Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week! One of my favorite parts of the weekend is going on a date with my husband. We don’t make it out alone every week (usually we have a hyper 2 year old tagging along), but love when we do! Last weekend we had the opportunity to try a restaurant in downtown San Francisco that we’ve never been to before. The restaurant is called Palomino. It’s located right by the Bay Bridge, which is one of the things that makes this restaurant so special!
Upon arrival, we were greeted and taken to our table which had a perfect view of the Bay Bridge. There is lots of indoor seating as well as a gorgeous outdoor patio. We started off with three appetizers…yes THREE! We had the tomato-basil bruschetta, crispy caprese, and some other fresh bread with dipping sauce appetizer. After that we had our main course. I ordered a salad, because honestly I just love salad and wanted to make sure I had plenty of room for dessert…haha! I got the Maple Marinated Chicken Salad and it was sooo good! What really make it was their maple vinaigrette dressing. I’ve never had a dressing like that before! My husband got their special for the night which was porkchops with a blackberry gastrique served with potatoes and veggies. He says the porkchops were perfectly cooked and not too dry which can be a problem for porkchops and that the blackberry gastrique added a little sweetness to each bite. To say he loved it would be an understatement. It’s almost been a week and he is still talking about how amazing it was and dying to go back!
We ended the meal with all five of their desserts. We honestly barely had room in our bellies at this point, but there is not way we were passing up what they brought out to us. Here was the line up:
- Chocolate Tiramisu
- Vanilla Creme Brûlée
- Orange Ricotta Donuts
- Almond Crusted Limoncello Cake
- Blueberry Gelato
The only thing I’m sad about is not being able to finish our desserts. But we did sample them all and it’s probably better that we didn’t finish them otherwise someone would have had to roll us out of the place! My favorite dessert was the Blueberry Gelato (the best gelato I’ve ever had), and my husband’s was the Vanilla Creme Brûlée.
Our server Enrico was so sweet and took great care of us during our visit. Chef Bill also make a few visits to our table to check on us and bring us delicious food and was so nice. Thank you Palomino for making our night so special!
I would definitely recommend Palomino for a date night spot! Because of it’s prime location, you can stroll around town before or after dinner, walk the piers, watch the sunset, and take in the vibrant San Francisco culture!
