I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was able to attend a super fun event at Macy’s Union Square.. This event was all about infusing your personal style into your home décor. There were a few different stations set up, but I started with pressed botanical art. If you’ve never done this before, it is such a blast and a good way to use your creativity! You glue pressed flowers to a paper that can later be framed to display in your house, or used as stationery.
Next up was meeting with a tablescape expert from Kate Spade. I learned how to set a classy picnic (something I’m dying to do!), and all about Kate Spade’s new dinnerware line featuring the cutest lemons and polka dot designs.
Another station I chose to attend was learning how to create custom ombré sachets. There were many scents to choose from, but my favorite was lavender. These are great to keep in your drawers to make your clothes smell yummy!
Lastly, I stopped by the refresh lifestyle zone where I “virtually relaxed” on a calming beach. It was a guided meditation experience using Samsung VR gear. This was really different and something I’ve never done before. I felt funny putting on the headphones and goggles, but it really was relaxing. The beach setting was perfect for me, because I think if it would have been a more intense VR experience, I could have gotten a little nauseous being pregnant.
I definitely left feeling inspired to step up my home décor game! Macy’s has tons of great home décor items, from furniture, to area rugs, to kitchenware. Be sure to check out their full selection of home items HERE.
