I’m almost 36 weeks pregnant and I seriously can’t even believe it! I’m starting to get into “nesting mode” and it’s driving my husband crazy…haha. Anyway, I used to have mixed feelings about bare belly maternity photos. I decided to take a few bare belly shots with my first pregnancy (see HERE), and was so happy to have the photos that I decided to do them this time around, too.
It’s so easy for pregnant women to feel self-conscious about their bodies. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably heard me mention a time or two (or three!) that I have gotten so many comments about how “big” I am during this pregnancy. It’s been a serious hit to my self-esteem, because let’s be honest – no woman wants to be told they are big, or asked if they are having twins when there is only one baby in there. However, I’ve tried SO hard to not let these comments get to me, because being pregnant really is a beautiful thing. This opportunity to grow a life is a gift I was given and I’m grateful for it every day. My pregnant belly is not perfect, but I am proud of it!
My cute friend Tevi of Tevi Hardy Photography took these photos while we were at the beach with our families. We went to one of our favorite beaches in Santa Cruz called Capitola. If you are in the area you should definitely check it out! They have these cute colorful houses with textured walls that look like frosting and their downtown area is adorable with tons of fun shopping and restaurants.
